Our Story

The Graham Academy is a tribute to a man who believed in the power of music to transform lives—William "Bill" Graham was a gifted musician and teacher. He was very active in the Canadian Folk and Classical music scene which included being a member of the Canadian Opera Company, performances on CBC radio and numerous TV music specials. Throughout his 30-year teaching career, Bill directed 12 full-scale musicals, bringing musical theatre to life for his students in Toronto. His commitment turned into many success stories as some of his students found their way to Broadway, Hollywood, and Europe, proving his efforts were not just worthwhile, but life-changing.

Bill's daughter, Annie, is the heart behind The Graham Academy. She’s seen firsthand how finding your voice on stage can reshape your life, because it reshaped hers. In her father's memory, and with his spirit guiding her, Annie's goal is simple: share the magic of musicals with the Hamilton community she loves.

Annie knows the thrill of performance isn't just for the pros. It's for everyone—the young, the old, the shy, the bold. The Graham Academy isn't about the grandeur or the glitz; it's about authentic expression, about finding joy in the act of creation and sharing. It's a place where anyone can come to learn, to grow, and to let their voice soar, just like Bill would have wanted.
